Imphal, February 08 2021:
State police have filed an FIR against a lone 'interviewer' from Kerala who had been conducting interviews and collecting bio-datas from candidates with the promise to place them in various lucrative positions.
The FIR was filed after a joint team comprising of Binobala Nongmeikapam, Deputy Director (WP); Mala Lisham, programme officer (SCPS); Khoinaijam Sunil Meitei, project officer of FXB India Suraksha; Laishram Super and officials from Labour Department and a team of Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (ATHU) led by ASI Nongthang Chingangbam conducted a verification of the credentials of the interviewer (s) on February 6, said a statement issued by Department of Social Welfare today.
The verification was conducted as the advertisement published in local daily on February 4 for large scale recruitment through 'Walk-in-Interview' was suspicious and raised alarm of 'Human Trafficking', added the statement.
It was found in the verification that the company of the lone interviewer from Kerala was not registered, had no mandatory documents, nor was he following any procedures for recruitment as mandated under the Inter-State Migrant Workmen (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 1979, added the statement.
Social Welfare Dept urged all the concerned to be aware of such dubious companies or persons, stay away from such phoney recruitment and report any suspected cases to the police station concerned.
