48 test positive for COVID

Imphal, January 08 2021:
Even though there was no report of COVID-19 death during the last 24 hours, 48 people were tested positive for the virus.
A press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang informed that 48 people were tested positive at Imphal West, RIMS, JNIMS, Maipakpi Hospital, Shija Hospital, Raj Medicity, Babina Diagnostics, Thoubal, Tamenglong and Noney.
They belong to Imphal West (36), Imphal East (4), Thoubal (4), Tamenglong (2), Tengnoupal (1) and Noney (1) .
On the other hand, 58 COVID-19 positive people were discharged during the last 24 hours from home isolation (40), JNIMS (4), RIMS (1), CCC Lamboi Khongnangkhong (1), Shija Hospital (7), Churachandpur (1), Jiribam (1) and Raj Medicity (3) .
The cumulative number of positive cases is 28,579 (general population 25,193 and Central security personnel 3,386) .
This figure includes 480 active cases (general population 459 and Central security personnel 21) and 27,735 discharged cases (general population 24,374 and Central security personnel 3,361) .
The recovery rate stands at 97.04 per cent.
Of all the people who tested positive for the virus in Imphal West district today, 17 belong to Singjamei Naorem Leikai, seven to Kwakeithel Laishram Leikai and three to Sagolband Nepra Menjor Leikai.
