A man today stabbed to death his uncle (father's elder brother) on the charge that the deceased practised witchcraft against his family.
Infuriated by the killing, local people dismantled the house of the accused this morning itself.
Ningthoujam Benao alias James (35) s/o N Iboton of Lilong Chajing Chingkhong Leikai killed his uncle Ningthoujam Birachandra (91) by stabbing the latter repeatedly at around 10.40 am.

Around five years back, Babu, elder brother of James assaulted Birachandra and rendered his right eye blind.
In addition, Babu killed Birachandra's son Damu, then 48 years old.
Following the murder, Babu was imprisoned for some period and he was living next door to Birachandra after his release.
Birachandra was having his lunch beside his bed when James barged in and stabbed him repeatedly.
In the next moment, James, Babu and all their family members abandoned their houses and fled away.
It was around noon when local people dismantled their houses.
It is reported that Iboton's family has a nagging suspicion and they also charged Birachandra of casting magical spell through witchcraft upon them.
