National webinar on National Education Policy-2020 held

Imphal, September 07 2021: A National webinar on 'National Education Policy-2020: Implementation and Challenges in Higher Education' jointly organized by The Society Of Environmental Education And Development (SEED), Manipur Shakti And Shobhit University, Meerut on September 5 on virtual platform.

Dr RK Ranjan, Minister of State, Ministry of Education And External Affairs as the Chief Guest gave the inaugural address and released abstracts of the book 'Zodiac of Flowers' written by Prof Amar Garg and other authors on the occasion, said a statement by the convenor of the webinar.

The Minister talked at length about the salient features of NEP 2020- Multiple entry exit through Academic Bank of Credit, Teacher Education, Rationalised Institutional Architecture, financial support for students, Online and Digital Education, Technology in education, Assessment reforms, Promotion of Indian languages, 21st century skills like active learning , effective communication, collaboration, technological skills , Experiential learning and Critical Thinking for Employability etc and said that the recommendations from the webinar will help to meet the challenges in implementing NEP-2020.The e-webinar had four Scientific sessions and also a valedictory session moderated and chaired by Vice Chancellors like Prof HN Verma, Jaipur National University, Prof GP Parsain,Tripura University, Prof N Rajmuhon, Dhanmanjuri University, Prof MG Tiwari, former President of Environmental Section, Indian Science Congress, Dr Sudha Tiwariji, National President Shakti.

Twelve invited speeches were presented - from different parts of India covering Internationalism and University Education, Technology in Education, Teacher's Training, Funding in Implementing NEP-2020, Skill Education, Technical Education, Library Education, Evaluation, Teachers Training and women education.

The whole event was organized by Santosh Nahakpam, programme officer of SEED on virtual platform.
