NEYSO installs dustbins & posters under zero waste mission

Senapati, April 07 2019:
New Eden Youth & Students Organization (NEYSO), Katomei has conducted a one day social service camp under the theme, "Clean Village for Healthy Community" at Katomei New Eden village yesterday.
During the camp, dustbins and posters that read "No dumping allowed", "Put trash in its place", "Help keep our community clean" and "Please do not litter" were installed by the volunteers.
They also mentioned that similar camp will be held at a neighbouring villages to educate the masses about the importance of maintaining neat, clean and eco-friendly environment.
New Eden village was awarded the "cleanest village" at "District Cleanliness Competition" under Swachh Bharat Mission for Clean and Healthy Senapati, 2014 by the District Administration, Senapati and named the village as "Model Village for Cleanliness" in the district.
Thereafter, New Eden was also officially declared as "Tobacco Free and Eco-Friendly" village.
Katomei New Eden Village was established in March 26, 2004 with a mixture of different tribes including the Tangkhul, Liangmei, Inpui, Rongmei, Poumai and Meetei (SC) .
