JNIMS to be enlisted as COVID-19 testing centre

JNIMS, the State's only medical college, will now be included as a testing centre for COVID-19 .
This was agreed to by Union Home Minister Amit Shah when he was briefed today by Chief Minister N Biren Singh about the prevailing situation in Manipur in the aftermath of the detection of positive cases of the disease in the country, Biren met Amit Shah today and briefed him in detail regarding the precautionary and preparatory measures taken up in the State in the wake of the outbreak of COVID-19 .
The surveillance mechanism put in place at Moreh for screening of people crossing into India from across the International border was discussed in detail during the meeting.
Similar systems put in place at the Bir Tikendrajit International Airport and land entry points at Mao and Jiribam were also discussed.
The Chief Minister also apprised the Home Minister on the demands for closing the international border at Moreh.
It was agreed that for now, the situation will be closely monitored for taking a decision in future.
During the meeting, the achievements of the Biren-led State Government, which is completing 3 years on March 15, was also reviewed and deliberated upon.
The Chief Minister also invited the Union Home Minister to grace a programme which will be organised to mark the completion of three years by his (Biren) Government.
During the meeting, the Home Minister expressed satisfaction at the improvement in security scenario and law and order situation in Manipur.
