Imphal, October 06 2013: A one-day Mahila Congress workshop cum mass enrolment and reconstitution of office bearers/executive committee member for Singngat assembly constituency was held today at the Babupara quarter of Singngat AC MLA GS Haopu.

Attending the event as the chief guest Tengnoupal AC MLA DK Korungthang called upon the womenfolk to exercise their right fearlessly for bringing about positive changes in the society instead of living under the false impression that women are inferior to men.

Stating that the Congress party is a political organisation that do not differentiate mankind on religious affinity, he also emphasised on the need for the womenfolk to take active part in further strengthening the party.

Speaking at the occasion, GS Haopu urged Mahila Congress members and supporters to persevere with their activities in making the Congress organisation a vibrant party in Singngat AC.

He also informed that womenfolk can contribute immensely in the development of Manipur as the Congress party is in power both at the Centre and the State.

Besides party workers from Singngat AC, Manipur Mahila Congress Committee president RK Ranisana Devi also attended the workshop.
