State enters Guinness record

Manipur has achieved a Guinness World Record for fitting most people with hearing aid in 8 hours by fitting nearly four thousand persons at the Grand Hearing Aids Distribution function held in Imphal today organised by the National Programme for Prevention of Deafness, National Health Mission, Manipur and ALIMCO.
In a simple function held at the CM's secretariat the Provisional Certificate from Guiness World Records was handed over to Chief Minister Manipur Shri O.Ibobi Singh.
The Chief Minister said "it is a proud moment for all of us in Manipur to create such a world record" .
Appreciating the Health Minister and the Commissioner Health and their subordinate staff, the Chief Minister said that all the credit must be given to the ground level workers.
Commissioner Health PK Singh added that in 8 hours time 3911 persons were fitted with hearing aid in today's programme and more than 5 thousand persons were fitted at the end of the programme.
This is the largest event of such a kind all over India and Manipur broke the earlier World Record created by Gujarat on September 17, 2016 by fitting hearing aid on 600 persons in 8 hours.
Manipur's record is 6 and a half time more than that of Gujarat, he said.
Deputy CM Gaikhangam and other Ministers were also present.
