Imphal, April 05 2017: The Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) president Weapon Zimik has said that the organisation will cancel its plan to host a reception programme of Chief Minister N Biren during his visit to Ukhrul on April 11.According to him, TNL held a meeting with the leaders and representatives of Tangkhul Frontal Organisations (TFO), Headmen Association TNWL, Tangkhul Shanao Long (TSL), Youth Council TMNL, chairmen of four Tangkhul zones to discuss the reception programme.

He said that although the organisations and the people welcome the CM and his team's visit to Ukhrul, it is not appropriate for TNL and the CSOs to host the official reception.

"It might simply create unnecessary confusion and misunderstanding.

TNL has no objection regarding the visit and will extend its full cooperation", he said.

He said that it would be more appropriate for political parties like BJP/NPF or even the district administration to host the reception.
