LPG refills : Contrasts in waiting period

Imphal, November 04 2015: Even as it takes four months to get a subsidised LPG refill cylinder for most of the LPG consumers, there are some consumers who have received seven/six subsidised LPG refills so far.

Two LPG consumers of a distributor located at Thoubal received seven subsidised LPG refills so far since April this year.

There are 13 consumers who got six subsidised LPG refills and five consumers who got five subsidised LPG refills during the same period under the same distributor.

As on Oct 28 this year, there were 12481 active consumers under the particular LPG distributor.

Out of the 12481 active consumers, 9972 are DBTL consumers (eligible to get subsidised LPG refilled cylinders) .

Even as the 9972 DBTL consumers have been anxiously looking forward to getting five subsidised LPG refills during the current financial year (starting from April this year and ending March next year), some of them had already got five, six and seven LPG refills.

Records maintained by the IOC confirmed that these consumers had already received seven/six/five subsidised LPG refills so far.

The two consumers who already got seven subsidised LPG refills so far are Consumer Nos 1232 and 3083 .

The Consumer Nos of 13 consumers who have already received six subsidised LPG refills are CX14117548, CX20480630, 128, 1388, 183, 203, 204, 226, 5246, 6899, 743, 8315 and LB7286 .

The Consumer Nos of five consumers who have already received five subsidised LPG refills so far are CX930032, CX4163794, CX15445250, CX15568666 and CX16023633 .

One of the two consumers who has received seven subsidised LPG refills so far got three subsidised LPG refills in April alone and two in July from the distributor concerned.

Although the subsidy amount payable to the consumers is said to be distributed to the consumers, it is not ascertained whether these consumers have received the amount or not.

Meanwhile, consumers of another LPG distributor in Thoubal district complained about irregular LPG distribution by their distributor.

They said that when they went to collect their share of refilled LPG after a long wait, they were told that refilled LPG cylinders are out of stock.

The distributor used to tell them to come the next day even though the delivery dates are due.
