Imphal, March 04 2016 :
Chief Minister I Ibobi has appealed to all the people of Jiribam sub-division to wait for some more time before the sub-division is upgraded to a full fledged revenue district.
Ibobi made this appeal while discussing the Manipur Appropriation (No 2) Bill 2016 in the State Assembly today.
Taking part in the discussion, Dr I Ibohalbi and Kh Joykishan questioned the position on the demand for upgrading Jiribam sub-division to the status of a full fledged revenue district.
They also raised the issue of regularising Muster Roll employees of engineering departments as well as alleged anomalies in the promotion process in the Police Department.
Ibobi remarked that the demand for upgrading Jiribam to the status of a district is justified.
While empathising with the people of Jiribam for all the difficulties they have been enduring, Ibobi appealed to wait for some more time even if it is too much.
He said, "If we suffer today, we may enjoy tomorrow" .
He also appealed to the JDDC to call off the ongoing agitation.
He further assured to look into all the anomalies regarding the line of promotion not only in Police Department but also in all other departments.
All possible measures would be initiated after examining the additional expenditure which would entail regularization of all Muster Roll employees of engineering departments, Ibobi added.
After due deliberation, the Manipur Appropriation (No 2 and No 3) Bills 2016 were passed by the State Assembly.
Moreover, the Manipur Municipalities (10th Amendment) Bill 2016 was also passed by the House.
