RNC, Manipur urges

Rongmei Naga Council, manipur has urged the State Government to initiate necessary steps and release the farmers who were arrested by 23 AR Rifles.
In a statement, RNC, Manipur stated that 23 AR personnel arrested two farmers from their respective home on August 31 on the pretext of nabbing NSCN-K cadres.
Kabigai, s/o Khamgaipou Gangmei and Namkhaulung, s/o Dikhuanang Gangmei of Sibilong are not NCSN-K cadres.
They are farmers.
Many men and womenfolk were beaten black and blue for protesting the arrest of Kabigai and Namkhaulung.
12 injured women were admitted to Nungba PHC for medical treatment, the statement said.
The brutalities committed against the innocent villagers on the pretext of nabbing NSCN-K cadres should be condemned by every right thinking individual.
RNC, Manipur urged the Home Department to release the two individuals at the earliest.
It also demanded the authorities concerned to compensate for the damages and injuries inflicted upon the villagers.
