Knapsack sprayers distributed to farmers

Sustaining his endeavour to ameliorate constraints of the economically weaker section of the society, social worker N Itomba Meetei along with activists of various voluntary organisations distributed knapsack sprayer pumps to the farmers of Keirao A/C.The agricultural kit distribution programme was organised jointly by Keirao Bitra Loumee Lup, ILU, YDCC and LMYC at Keirao Bitra today where the social worker graced the occasion as the chief guest along with local elder M Ngangbi as the guest of honour.
In all 100 sprayer pumps were provided to farmers of Keirao Bitra, Langdum, Khanarok, chanam Sandrok, Urup and Arapti villages, which lie under the assembly constituency.
While appreciating Itomba's effort to ensure availability of the important agricultural equipment to the farmers at subsidised rate, M Ngangbi expressed strong resentment that there is no initiative by the local representative to repair/develop various roads in the constituency which are in dilapidated condition.
In his brief remark, N Itomba conveyed thanks to Department of Agriculture's officials for their assistance and cooperation in providing the knapsack sprayer pumps at the subsidised rate of Rs 600 compared to its market price of Rs 1400 per piece.
