Archival awareness held at Tamenglong

The Manipur State Archives is serving the purpose of keeping records of the history of peoples of the State for future uses, Deputy Director of MSA, Dr K Sushila said.
She was speaking at the archival awareness cum lecture programme held at BBC Hall, Ward No 4 of Tamenglong Headquarters on March 1.The programme was jointly organised by the Manipur State Archives and United Rural Tribal Development Agency, Tamenglong.
Dr Sushila further said that the programme was organised to spread awareness on record keeping.
History, culture, heritage and traditions could be kept at the archive after collecting them.
She urged the people to collect them and keep the
same at MSA.
Speaking as the chief guest of the programme, Dr M Kirti, Retired Director of Education (U) noted that Tamenglong is an important place in Manipur.
He urged the people to collect information of the place and people for keeping at the archives.
President of the function, Phuanggan Phaomei said the awareness programme has opened the eyes of the people.
The resource persons of the programme included DM Nganthonang, ex-chairman TADC, Goldjem Pamei and Rev N Palmei, Senior Pastor of TCC.
