Three NSCN (IM) cadres arrested

Imphal, February 03 2022: Jwalamukhi Battalion of Assam Rifles busted a hideout of NSCN (IM) and arrested three of its active cadres with arms and ammunition from Bolkot Khunkhu Naga village under Sapermeina police station, yesterday at around 3.30 am.

According to sources, a massive search operation was carried out by Jwalamukhi Battalion of 22 Sector Assam Rifles on receiving inputs about some armed group extorting money and arrested the three cadres.

They have been identified as Mairikinang Abonmei (50), Maithon Liangmai (50) and Siraibou Malangmai (28), s/o Khangehiusanang Malangmei all from Langka village Kangpokpi district.

From them, one 7.65 pistol and a magazine with three live rounds, one country made shotgun with 11 cartridges, one country made hunting gun and 37 extortion slips have been seized.

The arrested persons have been handed over to Sapermeina police station along with the seized items.
