Senapati, February 03 2017: The office picketing movement launched by the UNC continued to affect normal functioning of offices for a month including preparations for the ensuing election.

Continuing with the agitation of picketing Government offices, a 'lightning bandh' was imposed today at Senapati Dhqs.

The four hour long bandh paralysed normal at the district headquarters as vehicular movement was restrictyed and and business establishments were shut down.

Consequently, training for more than 2300 polling officials for the upcoming election scheduled to be held today was cancelled.

All Government officials were also made to turn back from different points of the highway which were suspected to be manned by UNC volunteers.

The DC/DEO Arthur W issued a new schedule according to which the training programme scheduled today would be held on February 7 and 8 at Indoor stadium, Senapati DHqs.
