Mizoram CM to grace Mizo meet at Kawnpui

Lamka, November 30 2011: Mizoram Chief Minister Lalthanhawla and his wife is all set to grace the Mizo Meet scheduled to be held on December 9 at Kawnpui playground, about 3 kms from here.

The Chief Minister will land here in a military helicopter with an entourage of eleven members including a Minister and an MLA, said Sangkhuma, President of the Mizo Peoples Convention Manipur chapter.

Quoting the information he received from the CM's private secretary late yesterday, Sangkhuma told the media that a couple of artiste including the sensational Mami Varte will also accompany the head of the Chief Minister.

Addressing the media here, steering committee of the Mizo Meet said, their intention behind organising the meet was to foster unity and oneness among the kindred tribes in State of Manipur, particularly in Churachandpur.

The organisers have also requested every resident to get into the best traditional costumes of their own and turn up for the event, for the sake of brotherhood and peace.

They have also invited the local Ministers and MLAs besides 29 other dignitaries, to attend the festival.

Well known entertainers and artiste from Mizoram, leaders of Mizo civil society organisations will also attend the meet, they said.

Chief Minister Lalthanhawla and his entourage will hold a night in the State, most likely in Imphal and will return by an Air India passenger flight the next day.
