Rallies, sit in protests continue

Imphal, October 31 2019: To oppose any decision which can impact the integrity of the State following the Naga peace talks, a series of protests was organised in the State today.

For Changangei Apunba area, locals along with Kuki brethren, organised a sit in protest along the footpath opposite the airport while similar protest was held at Malom Bazar as well.

Kurao Makhong United Club and Kurao Makhong Meira Paibi Women Development Committee staged a sit in at Sayang Kurao Makhong and Nepra Menjor Pukhri Mapal Apunba Lup also staged a similar protest at Nepra Menjor Pukhri Mapal community hall.

Womenfolk of Kongba Irong Thongkhong Kiyamgei Muslim Awang Leikai and Bashikhong Kongba Irong also staged a sit in at Kongba Irong Thong.

On the other hand, Nongmaikol Progressive Youth Club Chana and Chana Meira Paibi organised an alert sit in protest at Chana, Imphal East.

Other sit in protests were staged at Kontha Khabam Maning Leikai by KWSR & DS in association with YSNC Kontha Khabam Maning Leikai Imphal East, Langol Games village and Housing Complex Kuki community, Khurai Puthiba by Social Reformers Club along with Meira Paibi Khurai Puthiba Leikai and at Lamjao Makha Leikai by KADUCO.

Langthabal Chingthak, Chingkha Club along with Women Society, All Manipur Students Guardians' Organisation & Singjamei Apunba Nupi Lup also staged similar protests at Langthabal and Singjamei Sougrakpam Leikai respectively.

People also organised a sit in protest at Langthabal Mantrikhong Makha Leikai and Yurembam Makha Leikai.

Meanwhile, Patsoi Tuliyaima Century Club Patsoi part-III and Apunba Patsoi Nupi Lup blocked the roads along NH-37 and staged a sit in protest.
