Arms recovered

Imphal, July 31 2024:
Security forces recovered a huge cache of weapons and other war like stores from the jungle of Lungphou village in Kangpokpi, today.
It is reported that the recovery was made during a four hour joint operation carried out by the personnel of 22 Assam Rifles and Kangpokpi police using sniffer dogs and metal detectors.
The weapons and other items recovered during the operation were one 7.62mm SKS semi automatic Assault Rifle with a magazine, one .22 Rifle with a magazine, two 12 inch Single Bore Barrel Guns, one IED weighing 1.2 Kg, five 7.62mm live rounds, four live cartridges, three 7.62mm fired cases, 20 .303 fired cases, three fired cartridges and one radio set with antenna.
The recovered items have been handed over to Kangpokpi police.
