Clash inside Sajiwa jail Bereaved wife blames jail staff

Thangminlian Zou's wife Zoh Rietpui has blamed the jail authority for her husband's death inside Sajiwa Central Jail yesterday.
The 29-year-old under trial prisoner from Churachandpur reportedly died in a clash with two other jail inmates from Saudi Arabia.
Speaking to reporters at Manipur Press Club, the bereaved wife demanded the jail authority to order an inquiry and take action against the negligent jail staff for not controlling the clash on time.
Alleging that she has lost her husband due to negligence of the jail staff, Zoh Rietpui questioned who would look after her and her three-year-old kid now.
She also said that the brutal murder of her husband has indicated that there is no security of life for the inmates inside Sajiwa Central Jail.
Zoh said that Thangminlian was re-arrested in August, 2014 in connection with a murder case that happened in 2010 and he has been facing trial since then.
Zoh said that they met Thangminlian for the last time when he appeared in the Court on July 25.During a brief meeting, Thangminlian candidly told his mother that he was teaching Zou dialect to two other inmates in his cell, Zoh said.
Family members told reporters that they have claimed Thangminlian's body after doctors conducted post mortem examination at JNIMS morgue in the presence of an Executive Magistrate.
They also said that Thangminlian's last rites would be conducted tomorrow.
It may be mentioned that Thangminlian Zou alias Bobon (29) s/o (L) Kapkhanpao of Muallum village, Churachandpur was allegedly killed by two other inmates hailing from Saudi Arabia inside their cell.
On hearing the news, other inmates rushed to the cell and lynched the duo.
