Imphal, February 28 2018:
Out of the 17 employment exchanges of the Directorate of Employment Exchange, job seekers can now register their names online at four employment exchanges, said Directorate of Employment Exchange Additional Director Sh Bijoy.
Speaking to media persons today in the course of the series of press conferences organised by DIPR at their Moirangkhom complex, Sh Bijoy said that online registration facility is not yet available at the other employment exchanges on account of absence of internet connectivity.
He said that most of the employment notifications are issued by the Imphal West Employment Exchange.
Imphal East Employment Exchange and a few other employment exchanges too issue employment notifications from time to time.
At the National level, all district employment exchanges issue employment notifications but this practice is not applied in Manipur.
As per the Compulsory Notification Vacancies Act 1959, a 15 day time is given if any employment notification is issued by Imphal West Employment Exchange for the same notification should be circulated to all other employment exchanges.
If an employment notification is issued by other employment exchanges directly, there will be seven days time, Bijoy said.
The total staff strength of the directorate should be 122 but there are only 88 staff at present including six gazetted officers.
The directorate should have at least 23 gazetted officers.
People generally see that the directorate's duty is confined to issuance of cards but the directorate has been sending report returns to the Government of India every year.
The directorate sends 119 report returns in a year but the directorate often faces problems when departments do not submit reports about recruitments, Bijoy said.
