Imphal, December 31 2014 :
The proscribed PREPAK has conveyed best new year wishes to all the people of Kangleipak (Manipur) who are being allegedly subjugated in all spheres of life by the alien rule.
The outfit prayed that the end of 2014 may put a full stop to all untoward incidents like ethnic conflict, crime against women and children, corruption, excesses committed by security forces, and the advent of 2015 may bring renewed vigour and strength to pursue the common aspirations of the people.
On account of the unchecked implementation of policies and programmes formulated by the Government of India in their own interests, Manipur's status as a dependent State has been increasing with each passing year.
Peasants of Manipur valley have been systematically pulled out of their age old occupation of cultivation.
By slowing assassinating their work culture, they are being inculcated with a new world view characterised by dependency, the outfit asserted in a statement issued by its publicity and propaganda, assistant secretary Leibakngakpa Luwang.
The alien has been employing both covert and overt means to completely subjugate the people of Manipur.
One instrument for suppressing the masses is the Armed Forces Special Powers Act, it pointed out.
Although some top officers of the Indian military expressed strong reservation against AFSPA, they did not say anything when they were in service because they too shared the common desire of keeping the people subjugated.
Even though the Jeevan Reddy Committee had recommended total repeal of AFSPA, the same recommendation is still kept at bay.
Alleging that the Indian social structure is determined by racism, the outfit said that the country's all administrative policies are shaped by racism.
Prolonged imposition of AFSPA in the frontier States is a clear case of racism perpetrated by the Indian State.
Acts of racism committed against people of WESEA by mainland Indians would never end until the world view of Indian people is changed.
The colonial regime is well aware of the legitimate liberation movement of Manipur which is in compliance with all international norms and conventions.
That is why, they have been investing all their wits and resources to subjugate the masses, the outfit alleged.
Even as the 14 year old case of Malom Massacre and the case of Thangjam Manorama have been heard in law Courts, none of the guilty persons have been punished till date.
Such half-hearted trials is a challenge to the collective aspirations of the masses and a moral booster to security forces.
As for those revolutionary cadres who surrendered to the enemy, nothing can be more treacherous betrayal of the people's faith and conviction, it decried.
They are guilty for betraying the masses and selling off the motherland.
There is a growing need to instil a strong sense of Nationalism in the minds of younger generations.
It's time to write a National anthem and sing it in one voice throughout the breadth and length of Manipur.
With the advent of 2015, it's time for the people of both the hills and the valley to march together on the path of freedom, it added.
