Imphal, December 31 2012:
On the occasion of the New Year 2013, the proscribed PREPAK has greeted all the people of the world including the people of Manipur who are allegedly reeling under the Indian regime.
A statement issued by the outfit's assistant secretary, publicity and propaganda Leibakngakpa Luwang remarked that the Government of India's strategy to strengthen its security apparatus in South East Asia in the name of its Look East Policy would have serious implications for Kangleipak (Manipur) .
Western South East Asia (WESEA), particularly Kangleipak can never realise any sort of meaningful development as long as the region is under alleged Indian occupation.
In spite of the all hype surrounding the Look East Policy, it would not bring any benefit to the people of the region.
Rather, the LEP would pose a serious challenge to the identity of the indigenous communities.
Expressing serious concern over the newly imbibed habit of dependence which has taken firm roots in the region, the outfit remarked that the existing trend driven by the alien rule has turned out to be a major factor for the ever shrinking agricultural land.
This would only aggravate economic dependency.
In the past, Manipuri people launched mass movements against exporting goods from the State (Nupi Lan 1939) but today people are agitating against suspension of import from outside the State.
This reversal of public concern is a clear indication of the degenerated tradition of the nation, the outfit observed.
Apart from the economic dependence, it is the Government of India's communal policies which have been keeping the people of the region literally on tenterhooks.
With a sinister design to destroy territorial integrity of Manipur, GoI has been playing communal cards.
By way of encouraging hill people to pursue their own geopolitics, the communal game has been pushed to the highest limits.
Despite all the repressive measures, communal games and genocide unleashed by imperialist India, the spirit and valour of the indigenous people could not be suppressed for Kangleipak has a long history of being an independent nation.
Cautioning that the Government of India's communal game would only bring disaster to all the indigenous communities, PREPAK called upon all the communities to defeat New Delhi's plan and march together towards freedom.
It further called upon the people to keep away all kinds of criminal activities and conflicts in order to create a peaceful and prosperous society in the coming years.
