Imphal, December 30 2024: Association of Healthcare Providers India (AHPI), Manipur Chapter and Indian Medical Association (IMA), Manipur State Branch have vehemently condemned the act of placing a hand grenade at the residence of Dr GS Moirangthem, Director-CEO of KARKINOS Manipur Cancer Institute & Research Centre located at Chingmeirong Maning Leikai in the morning of December 27 .

A press release issued by AHPI, Manipur Chapter called for an immediate cessation of all such violent acts.

It appealed to all parties involved to respect the fundamental rights of healthcare professionals and the invaluable services they provide to the public.

It also expressed deep concern over the rising incidents of violence and intimidation directed at doctors, healthcare facilities and their families.

Meanwhile, a press release issued by IMA Manipur State Branch said that the increasing incidents of violence and intimidation against the doctors, hospitals and their families will definitely dampen the spirit and motivation of the doctors dedicated to the service of patient care and welfare of the society.

It appealed to one and all not to repeat such violent acts in the future.
