JCC serves strike notice to govt

As announced earlier, the Joint Co-Ordinating Committee (JCC) of Engineering Departments, Manipur has served a 'Notice for Strike' commencing from October 17 till their demands are conceded to the state government.
In a statement released to the media, B Gunamani Sharma, General Secretary of JCC categorically stated that since JCC has been unable to get a positive response from the government in connection with the demands put forward,the JCC has been compelled to serve the strike notice.
The strike will commence from October 17 till all the demands are met.
The demands of JCC include implementation of 6th Pay Commission and payment of their due salaries for the last 17 months.
The JCC informed that the nature of the strike will start with a dharna inside the PWD complex, Khoyathong on October 17 next.
On October 18 and 19, the work-charged employees will carry out a relay hunger strike followed by indefinite hunger strike from October 20 and finally start the cease work strike altogether.
