Imphal, July 28 2014 :
The Manipur Legislative Assembly today passed the Manipur Appropriation (No 3) Bill, 2014 after due deliberation.
In the course of discussing the Bill, Chief Minister O Ibobi stated that a guest house would be constructed at Mumbai for accommodation of Manipuri patients going to Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai.
The Government would consider whether State Government employees recruited after 2005 can be entitled to medical reimbursement after their retirement.
The Government would also study the feasibility of raising salaries of VDFs and establishment of a separate VDF battalion where they can be taught on discipline and other matters.
If there are vacancies, senior MCS officers would be given promotion.
The Chief Minister also informed that visa on arrival facility would be available at Moreh ICP and Imphal airport shortly.
Rectifying his earlier statement that construction of 60 Kms long road from Nungthuland (Manipur) to Vanbawng (Mizoram) has been completed, Ibobi clarified that the road construc- tion work has been completed for 10 Kms.
For this mistake, the CM apologised to the House Members and the NGOs based at Tipaimukh.
The error was because of drafting the budget speech by Finance Department officials in haste.
It was not a deliberate act of misinforming the House or the public.
Dr I Ibohalbi, L Ibomcha and Dr Chaltonlien Amo took part in discussing the Appropriation Bill.
