AR celebrates raksha bandhan

Raksha Bandhan or Rakhi is celebrated on a full moon day in the month of Shawan (August) according to Hindu calendar.
It is the day when brothers and sisters reaffirm their affectionate bond "Raksha" means protection and "Bandhan" means binding or bound.
On this day, sisters tie a sacred threads or a colorful special band, rightly called "Rakhi on the brothers" writs as a mark of affection, sisterly love and sublime sentiments.The brothers in return promise to protect their sisters and offer them gifts.
A soldier is a brother to citizens all the year around.
Celebrating this spirit of patriotism on 26 August 2016 i.e, Raksha Bandhan, ladies of village Shaibol tied the sacred thread to Tengnoupal Battalion personnels in Shaibol and expressed their gratitude to soldiers for their Raksha with the Bandhan.
The function culminated with healthy discussion on various other issues of the village over tea and refreshments served by Assam Rifles.
