Imphal, April 26 2018: A Free Medical Camp was jointly organized by NHPC Loktak Power Station (LPS) and Loktak Downstream Hydroelectric Power Corporation Limited (LDHCL) along with a Drawing Competition Organized for the students of classes 5 to 8 on "Save Energy-Save Earth" by NHPC Loktak Power station at Taudaijang, Tamenglong district on 26th April, 2018 under CSR & SD.

Both the activities were inaugurated by the Chief Guest Shri Biswajit Basu, the General Manager Loktak Power Station and Chief Executive Officer LDHCL.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that as part of Social responbility and Community Development, Loktak Power Station have been conducting free cataract operations in collaboration with Shija Hospitals and Research Institute (SHRI) under project "Netra Jyoti" and Free Medical Camps to improve the health profile of the local people.

Power station also organized various skill development programmes under various courses in which more than 470 unemployed youth, 60 women weavers and 52 farmers of project affected area/families have been trained.

NHPC also organized free coaching camps for minor children of the weaker section of the location.

In addition to this, Power Station is also sponsoring various local football/ Hockey/ Polo tournaments to find out hidden talent among the local youth.

More than 300 patients were given free consultancy and medicine free of cost after proper screening by the Doctors.

At the end, prizes were distributed to the winners of drawing competition on "Save Energy-Save Earth" .
