Newspaper distributors observe foundation day

Imphal, August 25 2019: The All Manipur Newspaper Sales and Distributors' Association (AMNSDA) celebrated its 38th foundation day at Manipur Press Club today.

Deputy Director of Health Services, Dr Probin Arambam spoke on Chief Minister-gi Hakshelgi Tengbang (CMHT) cards and the entire dignitaries distributed the remaining CMHT cards to the newspaper distributors.

A book entitled "Sinphamduda" (written by a member of AMNSDA, S Raghumani) was also released as a part of the foundation day celebration.

Executive members of AMNSDA, members and distributors assembled at the venue to pay floral tributes to all the deceased members of AMNSDA.

Shirts and trousers were also distributed to the distributors.

Speaking to media persons on the sideline of the foundation day, general secretary of AMNSDA, L Surjit Singh, said that the main objective of celebrating the foundation day is to make an accessible work platform as well as to create work culture among the indigenous people of the State.

Till now, the association has always contributed at the best level to the society through different media houses, organisations/firms and this is because of the hard work and contribution passed by the elders and deceased leaders of the association.

The departed leaders and elders of the association wisely registered the association in the cooperative society on August 25, 1981, he said, lauding all the departed elders and past leaders of the association for their exceptional contribution to today's generation.

The association was formed only by indigenous people and not a single outsider was included, added the general secretary.

He also expressed gratitude to Lamjingba Group for sponsoring the foundation day celebration and for making it a significant event.

He further lauded the entire media fraternity for their full coverage and for making the celebration successful.

The general secretary also appealed to the media houses to shorten Holi festival to three days instead of five days.

Deputy Director of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Longjam Chaoba, president of AMNSDA Wangkhemcha Ajit Singh were the main dignitaries of the foundation day.

Ram Krishna Mission also distributed clothes to the newspaper distributors during the event.
