Imphal, April 23 2013:
The Zeliangrong Students' Union, Delhi has strongly demanded the RPF/PLA to immediately release the school girl without any further delay while also urging the State Government to tender an unconditional apology for its gross incompetence in dealing with the issue effectively.
Expressing concern over the alleged uncivilized kidnapping of school girl Alice Kamei by RPF/PLA despite repeated appeals by various civil societies and students' bodies for her safe release, the Zeliangrong Students' Union, Delhi said that the lack of responses and effectiveness on the part of the State Government has been very disturbing.
Despite democratic attempts for the safe release, all efforts have failed to move the State authorities that continue to practice apartheid-like system on the tribals, alleged a statement issued by president of ZSUD, Holang Ngonamai and VP ID Gil.
Had the present episode been on non-tribal girl, then the state administration could have taken immediate action for appeasing the majority community, it charged.
Questioning the alleged silence, indifference and irrational attitude displayed by the non-tribal based civil society organizations, the ZSUD said the ineffectiveness of the State Government shows that the politics of discrimination prevails.
ZSUD does not endorse, whatsoever, nor propagate any evil against any militant.
However, such gross moral and responsibility degradation from any group is unbecoming of a group which claims to stand for the society, even by any stretch of imagination.
It puts a big question mark on the credibility of the group for all times to come.
Such development is a worrying trend which can plaque the whole society and a potential matter for negative advantage by evil elements in the future, it added.
