Imphal, June 22 2016: Parliamentary Secretary K Meghachandra today denied the allegation that he had assaulted employees of RIMS.

Addressing reporters today at Manipur Press Club, K Meghachandra said the gate of the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation ward was found closed when he went there to meet a patient last night around 8 .

The staff made to him wait for about 1 and a half hours even though he identified himself as a representative of the people.

He said he just reprimanded the chowkidar and the staff after meeting the patient.

The MLA said he met the Director, MS and members of the Staff Association today morning.

He was told that there is no strict rule to end visiting hour at 6 pm, but the restriction was imposed due to reports of thefts.

He said he had not assaulted anyone yesterday at the campus.

He just went there to meet and extend some help to a patient.
