Political awareness programme held

Ukhrul, November 19 2021:
Dr Khashim Ruivah, ex-MLA and intending candidate of 45-Chingai (ST) Assembly Constituency on Friday organised a one day booth level political awareness programme of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) at Tora-Ato Tang in Ukhrul.
It was attended by a host of party leaders from the district unit and 45-Chingai Mandal along with party workers and supporters.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Khashim Ruivah enlightened the villagers on the political vision of BJP and stated the party has a strong commitment towards progress and welfare of the society.
He mentioned that the party is making all efforts to reduce poverty and establish an egalitarian society, where every citizen has equal rights and opportunities in all aspects of life.
To allay the misconception and unfounded propaganda about the saffron party, the former MLA said that every faith has a place in the party's ethos and ensuring secularism in the country has always been the top agenda of the party.
He continued that during his stint as MLA of 45-Chingai AC, the Tangkhul language was given recognition in the Assembly and was included in the syllabus for higher secondary education.
BJP leaders including Bijoy Shatsang, Jhoram, Ngaranmi and Masopam also spoke on the occasion.
Later, an interactive session with the representatives of village units from Phungdhar, Somdal, Maichon, Champhung, Tora, Teinem, Tanrui, Phalee, Phungcham and Paorei was also conducted.
