Imphal, December 18 2015 : Geological Society of India will organise the International Earth Science Olympiad next year.

Manipur University's Department of Earth Sciences will conduct an entrance test to select the participants of the Olympiad on January 16, 2016 .

Students who are born after July 1, 1997 and who will be studying in Class IX, X, XI and XII during September 2016 may take part in the entrance test, said a press release.

The entrance test will have questions in English, Geosphere, Atmosphere, Hydrosphere and Astronomy.

Twenty students chosen in order of merit would take part in a training camp and top four students would represent India at 10th IESO to be held in Japan, the press release said.

Application form, syllabus and limited study materials can be downloaded from the website, www.geosocindia.org/index.php/ieso.

Details can be had from MU's Department of Earth Sciences and last date of form submission is January 10, 2016 .
