Training for poll personnel held

Churachandpur, January 18 2022:
The first round of training for poll personnel to be deployed across six Assembly Constituencies within Churachandpur and Pherzawl districts kick-started today at Churachandpur Government College.
The training will continue till January 22 .
In today's training programme, about 344 Presiding Officers (male) and 345 Polling Officer-1 (Male) were trained.
Returning Officer of Thanlon and Tipaimukh ACs Ch Shachi inspected the training.
The training session includes audio-visual demonstration on the duties of the polling personnel and hands-on training of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) .
Officials said that a special focus was given on the use of Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) which will be used in all the polling booths.
Six Assembly segments (55-Tipaimukh AC, 56-Thanlon AC, 57-Henglep AC, 58-Churachandpur AC, 59-Saikot AC and 60-Singnat AC) within Churachandpur and Pherzawl districts will go to poll in the first phase on Feb 27 .
The total number of electors in these six ACs is 2,21,362 while the two districts have 357 polling stations.
The DEO, Churachandpur constituted a District Medical Board to examine applications for exemption from election duty on medical ground, yesterday.
The DEO also notified all political parties that one room at the ground floor of Old DC's office building will be opened at 11 am of January 19 till completion of AC wise physical sorting of EVMs and VVPATs for the ensuing Assembly election.
At the same time, the DEO has also notified that the 1st randomization (AC wise assigning/allocation) of EVMs and VVPATs in EVM Management Software will be held tomorrow at DC's Conference Hall at 10.30 am .
