SFs make three UG arrest during past 24 hrs

Imphal, June 16 2012: Imphal East district police commandos arrested one PLA cadre identified as Lumpining Kabui alias Boy alias John (22) s/o Rajen Kabui of None Bazar, from Khurai Popular High School today around 8am, according to a statement of the IE SP.

On verification, he disclosed that he joined the outfit in 2007 through one Ricky of Lamshang and got training in Burma under Army No 2996 while also revealing that the is now working under the command of 2nd Lt Anil of Jiribam and was involved in extortion of money from general public, government officials, private firms, etc, the statement said.

Meanwhile, a combined team of Thoubal district police commandos and troops of 15 AR arrested one KCP activist along with one 9mm pistol with two live rounds today at around 12.20pm from Khangabok Part-III Lamlong Bazar.

Identifying the arrested activist as Thokchom Subol (56) s/o (L) Th Tomal of Khangabok Part-III Lamlong Bazar, a Thoubal police statement said the individual revealed that he is extorting money from contractors, businessmen, government employees and involved in the transportation of arms and ammunition from place to place under the command of SS C-in-C of KCP Th Nando of Khangabok Lamlong Bazar.

In another instance, Thoubal district police commandos arrested one KCP (Wanglen) activist identified as Md Meri Hassan (25), s/o Basir Ahmad of Thoubal Moijing Awang Leikai, along with a Chinese made hand grenade from Moijing Lamkhai yesterday around 6.30pm.According to a police statement, the individual revealed that he was involved in the grenade attack at the residences of Md Nasimuddin of Thoubal Moijing Awang Leikai and Hamida, d/o (L) Kamaluddin of Moijing Awang Leikai.
