Fitting punishment against molester demanded

Imphal, February 15 2016: A mother-in-law has today demanded fitting punishment against a 30 years old youth for molesting her daughter-in-law in the night of February 12 .

Speaking to the media persons, mother-in-law of the victim woman stated that they have been working at a brick field located at Hiyangthang Poula Loukhol owned by one Pukhrambam Nando of Langthabal Thong Ahanbi.

The victim's family, along with other fellow workers, live in a workers' makeshift quarters near the brick field since the past few months.

On February 12 at around 7 pm, her son returned from work and was served dinner by his wife.

After having his dinner, he went inside the bedroom to take rest, the victim's mother-in-law said.

At that time, the accused person identified as Saikhom Sunil (30) s/o Ahtek of Mayang Imphal bazar Thana Manak went inside their living room.

The accused person, on seeing the victim's son having his dinner, sent him to get some eggs from the shop.

The boy went out to buy the eggs.

Taking advantage of the absence of other family members, the accused sneaked into the bedroom of the victim.

He took out a knife and threatened her to remain silent or else face the consequence and started molesting her.

The boy, who went to buy eggs from the shop, returned when the man was trying to rape her.

The accused was caught red handed when her daughter-in-law alerted the family.

Later, they informed about the incident to the owner of the brick field.

The owner filed a complaint at Singjamei PS the same day.

Subsequently, the accused person was taken by Singjamei Police team the same day.

The mother -in-law demanded fitting action against the accused.
