Imphal, January 15 2020:
MLA Leishiyo Keishing of the NPF, which is an ally of the BJP in the State Government, has hammered the BJP of not keeping its promises and alleged that tall claims of the Government are all unrealistic.
Speaking at the inaugural function of the general conference of Sambu Raiping Katamnao Long at Kamjong's Changa village today, the MLA claimed that the NPF has experienced bitter relationship with the BJP as the latter has failed to keep the promises it made at the time of Government formation.
The BJP had promised the NPF to give one Cabinet post initially and another after two months in addition to two more independent charge posts.
But three years have gone and the BJP has not yet delivered its tall promises, he said adding that the NPF had supported the BJP only because it despised the Congress.
Even after three years, the BJP-NPF alliance has had no common minimum programme.
It has never held coordination and consultative meetings, he claimed asserting that the 12 Ministers are running the their own affairs as they lack consultative and collective efforts to run the State.
"The slogan that hills and valley are one is a lie.
All development infrastructures including Central universities are all in the valley," he said asserting that hill areas lack many of the institutions that would improve the living standard of the people.
Commenting on the notions that valley is crowded and exploding with increasing population, he said that it is natural as all the offices and institutions are in the valley and questioned why this should be.
The general conference is being held under the theme "The Challenge of Change" and will continue till January 21 .
Many dignitaries including ADC Members attended the event today.
