Imphal, November 14 2013:
Unlike the present system of manual verification, CPIS (computerised personal information system) forms along with the necessary supporting documents furnished by nodal officers would be verified electronically by the authorised officers of the Finance Department.
The updated employee list and the updated list of sanctioned posts would be directly uploaded on the website www.cpis.man.nic.in.
This can be treated as the certified MGEL and the concerned Department and the Treasury Officers should henceforth use these lists for releasing salaries and the relevant purposes.
An office memorandum to this effect was issued by the Joint Secretary (Finance Budget) Hrishikesh Modak on November 11 .
No certified hard copy would be henceforth be issued as the Treasury Officers and Nodal Officers would be able to access the certified list on the website.
Nonetheless, the concerned nodal officer may take a print out of the electronic version of updated MGEL for their own records.
It further directed all concerned Treasury offices to release salaries of employees strictly based on the online MGEL.
They should verify the updated MGEL before releasing salary.
The new procedure detailed by the office memorandum would come into effect from December 1, it added.
