Protests demanding ILPS continue

Imphal, August 13 2015: The agitation demanding the implementation of ILPS in Manipur continued on Thursday.

Students and faculty of JN Manipur Dance Academy staged a sit-in-protest demanding ILP in the state.

Locals of Heirangoithong Awang Maibam Leikai also staged a sit-on.

Large number of people of Moirang area came out on the streets and staged a sit-in.

Later, they formed a human chain and shouted several slogans demanding the ILP system in Manipur.

Similar protest was also held at Ayangpalli.

Sit-in-protests were held at various areas of Khurai.

Residents of Tera and Lalambung also demanded ILP in Manipur by staging sit-ins.

Activities of non-locals banned .

Supporting the movement by Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS), the Women's Social Welfare Association has said on Thursday the Wangkhei Angom Leikai Club and meira paibis have banned business activities and labour works by non-locals in their area with immediate effect.

A release said the ban will remain in force until the demand for implementation of ILPS is fulfilled.
