AMGSU observes Bhanu Jayanti with humanitarian service

Observing the 207th Bhanu Jayanti, birth anniversary of famous poet Bhanu Bhakta Acharya, the All Manipur Gorkha Students' Union (AMGSU) donated relief items to various District Headquarters today.
AMGSU observed Bhanu Jayanti at its office premises at Kanglatongbi while it was also observed at various places by AMGSU Irang, Toribari-Kangpokpi, Kalapahar, Motbung, Charhajare, Kanglatongbi and Leimakhong units, strictly maintaining lockdown protocols.
A team of AMGSU led by its president LB Adhikari visited the District Headquarters of Kakching, Imphal East and Imphal West and donated relief items to the respective Deputy Commissioners.
At Kakching District Headquarters, DC Arambam Valentina, IAS received the relief items which included 50 packets of mineral water, 15 pumpkins and bottle gourd each, 5 packets of hand gloves, 100 pcs of masks, 54 pcs of sanitizer, 1 box of eggs and 3 pcs of room sanitise.
The DC thanked AMGSU and wished them success in its endeavours and smooth functioning of the organisation.
The team then met Imphal East DC Dr Rangitabali Waikhom, IAS and DC of Imphal West, N Praveen Singh, IAS at their respective offices and donated similar items.
LB Adhikari said that the visit to today is an attempt by the student body to share its solidarity and cordial relationship of the community with the district administrations.
It was also to express willingness to support the District Administration in the fight against the deadly, he added.
Meanwhile, AMGSU thanked all the well wishers, supporters, donors who stepped forward to help during this time of global distress.
