Imphal, December 12 2024:
The 85th Nupi Lan Observation Committee convenor Thongam Apabi has asserted that the incumbent State Government is a puppet Government.
The 85th Nupi Lan Day was organised by the 85th Nupi Lan Numit Observation Committee comprising AMKIL, Kanglamei, Poirei Leimarol, AMAWOVA, Nupi Samaj, Tammi Chingmi, MEPWAK, KIL and CLK.
Speaking at the Nupi Lan anniversary observation held at JN Manipur Dance Academy here, Apabi categorically said that the Chief Minister cannot remain enacting drama after handing over his power to another person.
Saying that it is the duty of the State Government to raise its voice at Delhi, Apabi asserted that the people have no faith in the incumbent Government.
Paying floral tributes is not enough, the present generation needs to follow the footsteps of those brave mothers who fought valiantly against the repressive policies of the British colonial rulers, she said.
The 20 months old violent crisis was instigated by the Government of India and it is using Kukis as their proxies.
All the women need to rise up and fight against such sinister policies of the Government of India, she asserted.
Protection and Preservation Committee Manipur (PPCM) convenor Pheiroijam Nando Luwang said that the whole world knows how Manipuri women .
fought against the British rulers in 1904 and 1939.It is the same spirit inherited from those brave mothers that the present generation of Manipuri women have been shouldering great responsibilities amid the ongoing crisis, he said.
The momentous responsibility being shouldered by Manipuri women to protect Manipur will be remembered forever, he said.
Manipuri women who have been keeping sharp vigil day and night now want to fight with the masters, not the servants.
The people know how the Government of India has been instigating one community against another and following several deceitful policies, Nando said.
Instead of plotting secretly to wipe out Manipur, it should declare its intention openly, he said.
With a strong feeling of malice, jealousy and animosity, the Government of India has been scheming to destroy the tiny State of Manipur.
By giving different hopes and assurances, the Government of India has been scheming to turn one community against another, he said.
"Let us take a firm stand collectively, use our resources productively and stop posing hurdles to each other", Nando said.
He also appealed to all the people to stop using provocative words on social media.
It is time to fight the flood, not the time to plug in a small leakage, he asserted.
He appealed to all the people not to do anything which may discourage or undermine each other.
It is time to identify the common enemy and fight collectively, he said.
Nando Luwang also appealed to all political parties to stop criticising each other with the objective of scoring political mileage.
AMKIL president L Nganbi, Kanglamei president Y Leirik Leima, Poirei Leimarol president S Memcha, Kabui Mothers Association Manipur president G Atongpi Kameipui and Kshetrigao Meira Paibi Apunba Lup president Jano Begum were also seated on the dais as presidium members.
