77th Nupi Lan anniv observed all over

The 77th Nupi Lan was observed today at THAU Ground, Thangmeiband by Apunba Manipur Kanba Lup (AMKIL), Kanglamei, Poirei Leimarol, All Manipur Women Voluntary Asso-ciation (AMAWOVA), Nupi Samaj, Tammi Chingmi and Meira Paibi Welfare Association, Kangleipak (MEPWAK) today.
AMKIL president Phanoujam Sakhi Leima, Kanglamei president Y Leirik Leima, Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba Manipur president L Memchoubi Leima, Kanglei Women Welfare Association president LK Memcha Leima, Kuki Mothers Association president Rose Mangsi, All Manipur Muslim Women Development Organisation president Aribam Sitara Begum and Protection and Preservation Committee Manipur (PPCM) convenor Dr Y Manikumar took part in the event.

Y Kunjarani, convenor of the observation Committee said that the women of the State played a pivotal role in fighting against injustice and oppression by the authorities. She also said that it was the responsibility of the women to guide and lead the estranged youths of the society to the right path.
Speaking as a resource person at the event, Dr Dhanabir Laishram said,"Only remembering the Nupi Lan event will not bring peace and tranquillity.
People have to unite in order to create a robust and fruitful society" .
Th Bharat of Center for Study of Social Exclusion and Inclusive Policy (CSSEIP), MU, spoke on 'The role of the modern women in the modern society', L Gojen (Associate Prof, Dept of Economics, Manipur College) spoke on 'Manipuri women and the economy' and Dr N Sanatombi (Asst Prof, Dept of Manipuri, MU) spoke on the importance of today's women in paving the way for future generation to preserve and nuture the society.
Nupi Lan was also observed at Manipur Press Club by United Manipur Muslim Women Development Organisation.
Modern College Professor Md Nijamuddin Khan, United Manipur Muslim Women Development Organisation (UMMWDO) president Mb Anwari Nurjahan, Directorate of Health Services' Additional Director Dr Md Sallamatt Ullah, AMOKOK president Sm Jalal, Manipur High Court Advocate Md Rabi Khan, Manipur Muslim Welfare Organisation (MMWO) president Fm Abdulla Pathan and DM College of Community Education Director Md Rahijudine attended the event.
Sarah Bibi, a Muslim woman who took part in the Nupi Lan was also remembered at the function.
The Manipur People's Party observed the 77th Nupi Lan at the party's office conference hall today.
According to a press release issued by the MPP, senior vice president O Jugindro Singh and party workers offered floral tributes to the photos of the brave martyrs.
MPP vice president Y Priyokumar Singh, P Jamini Devi and MPP general secretary Chandrakala Devi also attended the event.
The party leaders spoke about the various role of the brave women during the Nupi Lan.
