Hill-Valley people are children of same mother: Sushila

People living in both the hills and the valley are children of the same mother.
Earlier both of them were staying together atop Koubru Hill and later shifted to different parts of the state.
However, with the coming of various religious preachers, hill and valley people adopted religion of their own choices, K Sushila, Deputy Director of Manipur State Archive Department, has stated.
Sushila was speaking at the exhibition of antique materials and inaugural function of 33rd Archives Week at Churachandpur district's Khoirentak Khullen on Tuesday.
She went on to point out that culture, tradition is the identity of the community and people should not neglect their own culture.
Furthermore, she pointed out that historical datas and manuscripts help in the reconstruction process of aged old archives of different communities.
Expressing happiness over the preservation of historical relics by the people of Kom tribe, Sushila said that Khoirentak Khuman is one of the important places associated in the history and mythology of Manipur.
She appealed to the people of Koirentak to contact the State Archive Department if they came across any historical stuff, information and relics.
Nodia Ngangaicha, Secretary of MYM; Philem Mani, Vice President of MYM and others attended the function.
