Handloom weaving training programme concluded

A valedictory function of 'Swavalamban Kaushal Unnayan' programme on handloom weaving (from February 7 to March 7, 2020) was held on October 12 at the Training Hall, Moreh Handloom Silk Weaver and Artisan Cooperative Society Ltd.
The programme was organized by the Council for Advancement of Rural Development, (CARD) Thoubal Kshetrileikai supported by Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), Imphal Branch.
The programme was participated by 30 unemployed girls and women from Moreh town.
The valedictory function was attended by M Thoiba Meitei, president, Meitei Council Moreh, G Ramkumar, BO in charge, SIDBI, Imphal Branch, Th Ibungcha Meitei, gen secy HERS, Moreh and K Shyamo, Headmaster Eastern Shine School Moreh as chief guest, guests of honour and president respectively.

W Ibohal Singh, secy CARD (1st National Youth awardee of North Eastern zone and retd district youth coordinator NYKS) gave the welcome address and highlighted the importance of skill development/vocational in developing the economy of the country.
M Thoiba Meitei thanked the officials of Council for Advancement of Rural Development, (CARD) Thoubal Kshetrileikai and Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) Imphal Branch for organising such the programme.
He also advised the participants to take only necessary amount of loan from bank or financial institutions.
In his speech, the BO in charge of SIDBI Imphal Branch highlighted the programme and schemes.
The other presidium members also stressed on the importance of the programme and encouraged the participants to work hard towards achieving a common goal.
The vote of thank was given by W Rakesh Singh, programme coordinator CARD.
