IGAR (South) greets people on Patriots Day

Imphal, August 12 2015: Major General VS Sreenivas, VSM IGAR (South) and all ranks of Assam Rifles extended their greetings to the people of Manipur on the occasion of Patriots Day 2015 .

The day is observed as a mark of respect to the supreme sacrifices made by Bir Tikendrajit and Thangal General on August 13, 1891.It also reminds the people of Manipur, the soaring sense of patriotism of the brave sons of the land, a message said.

IGAR (South) appealed to the people of Manipur to come together bearing the same indomitable and unconquerable spirit and stand united to fight against "social evils and insurgency to bring about peace, prosperity and tranquillity in the days to come" .

Major General VS Sreenivas also wished the people of Manipur to live in harmony by joining hands and spreading amity besides bringing prosperity to the State.
