Imphal, May 12 2017: After an understanding has been reached with the Government, the All Manipur Petroleum Pump Dealers' Association has called off their shut down oil pumps stir and pumps will reopen from tomorrow.

Demanding clarification and apology from the CAF&PD Director by May 11 regarding the alleged malicious statement made by the Director before media which could project oil pumps in wrong light, the oil pump dealers launched an agitation by closing down all oil pumps from today.

As such, petrol pumps remained shut this morning.

Nonetheless, a meeting was held between CAF&PD Minister Karam Shyam, CAF&PD Commissioner, Director and representatives of the All Manipur Petroleum Pump Dealers' Association and the meeting came to an understanding.

Hence, the agitation of shutting down oil pumps was called off.

Fuel pumps will re-open tomorrow as by the time the decision to re-open the pums was taken, all the workers at the pumps had gone back home.
