A National integration tour organized for the students of Manipur by Senapati Brigade under the aegis of Red Shield Division was flagged in at Jwalamukhi on February 9 .
13 students and three teachers from the interior areas of Senapati district are taking part in the tour, said a press release issued by PIB (DW) .
During the tour, the children visited places like Anand Bhavan, Allahabad Museum, Triveni Sangam, Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Ganga Ghat, Sarnath temple and various Army establishments to also include Army Public School and Gorkha Regiment Training Centre.
The children also got an opportunity to interact with various civilian and military dignitaries.
The students interacted with their counterparts of various cultures and dialects which gave them an insight of life in other parts of the country.
Interacting with the students during the flag-in ceremony, the Officiating Commander, Senapati Brigade brought out that these children are the building blocks of the country and need to be nurtured for a better future of the State.
He added that the security forces are committed to provide them the best exposure to broaden their horizons through such Military Civic Action projects.
The Commander also gave the certificate of appreciation to all the students who have taken part in the tour.
In the series of the all expense paid excursion tours, the Red Shield Division flagged off one more National Integration Tour of 15 students and four teachers from Parbung and Tipaimukh sub-divisions of Churachandpur district.
The tour was flagged off by Commander 27 Sector Assam Rifles on Feb 7 from Tuibuong, Churachandpur.
The students would visit important heritage sites in Delhi and Agra.
They would also meet the President of India and Union HRD Minister.
The tour is aimed at achieving the National aim of enhancing people to people contact between the North Eastern States and rest of the country and youth empowerment.
The team would also visit different installations of the defence forces in around Delhi and Agra which would inculcate self confidence and provide a boost to the ambitions of the young students.
