COVID-19 death toll rises by 2 to take official tally to 320

Imphal, December 11 2020:
The State's official COVID-19 death toll has reached 320 after two persons died of the virus at JNIMS during the last 24 hours.
This official figure does not include death of an Army colonel and a 42-year old man from Imphal West reported sometime back and a 76-year old woman who died at Shija Hospital yes-terday.
Two men, aged 36 and 41 who belonged to Imphal East died of COVID-19 during the last 24 hours at JNIMS, informed a press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang.
In the meantime, 174 people including 38 personnel of CAPF were tested positive for COVID-19 at JNIMS, RIMS, Imphal East, Imphal West, Maipakpi Hospital, Acme Hospital, Escent Diagnostics, Shija Hospital, Jivan Hospital, Raj Medicity, Thoubal, Bishnupur, Senapati, Tamenglong, Kangpokpi and Babina Diagnostics.
The 136 civilians who have been tested positive belong to Imphal West (45), Imphal East (41), Thoubal (8), Bishnupur (12), Kakching (2), Tamenglong (5), Tengnoupal (4), Chandel (2), Kangpokpi (3), Senapati (2) and Churachandpur (12) .
All of them are locals who do not have any significant travel history.
On the other hand, 148 COVID-19 positive people were discharged during the last 24 hours from CAPF (4), home isolation (74), RIMS (24), JNIMS (7), CCC Lamboi Khongnangkhong (2), CC UNACCO (1), RD Wing (21), Shija Hospital (5), Ukhrul (2), Thoubal (7) and Tamenglong (1).The total number of positive cases is 26,859 (general population 23,581 and Central security personnel 3,278) .
It includes 2,998 active cases (general population 2,654 and Central security personnel 344) and 23,541 discharged cases (general population 20,611 and Central security personnel 2930) .
The recovery rate stands at 87.64 per cent.
