Student union leaders and volunteer remanded to police custody till Dec 13

Bruce Pebam, HRD secretary of AMSU HQs, who was arrested last night from Kwakeithel area, was produced before the Duty Magistrate, Imphal West today evening, and remanded to police custody till December 13 .
According to a reliable source, Bruce Pebam was reportedly arrested by a team of Imphal West district police from Kwakeithel area after he finished attending a discussion/ talk show in a local electronic media as one of the panellists.
Today evening, he was produced before the Duty Magistrate by a team of Imphal PS and taken into police remand on the charge of imposing a 14 hour shutdown in the State against Citizenship Amendment Bill, as solidarity to NESO yesterday.
On the other hand, Yumkhaibam Bijando, joint secretary (Administration) of AMSU HQs, Sagolsem Ranajit, vice president, AMSU Jiribam district and Sinam Bobe, AMSU volunteer, who were arrested on the night of December 9 from AMSU HQs, were also remanded to police custody till December 13 by the Duty Magistrate Imphal West.
