Jiribam, July 11 2024: The 12th Sahitya Kirtan presented by renowned Moirengjam Subram of Assam was held on Wednesday at Laishramkhun Mamang Leikai in Hailakandi district of Assam.

The event was graced by ACS Officer Ashem Mani; president of Manipuri Sahitya Parishad Assam Ngangom Joykumar Singha ; Advisor Ingudam Binud Singha; vice president of Short Story Society India Khaidem Kanta; Sahitya Akademi New Delhi, Manipuri Board Member Khoisnam Birola and Manipuri Literary and Cultural Forum,Tripura general secretary Khoisnam Mangol as the presidium members.

The event commenced with the lighting of candles by the dignitaries and presentation of a welcome song by radio artist of Silchar, Arambam Chandramohan Singha.

As a part of the programme, eminent personalities including poet Sajabam Tahir; Hockey Coach K Bidhyaban Singha; Sarit Sarak Coach Moirangthem Ibomcha Singha and Dr KTamna Singha who had recently achieved the PhD degree were honoured by presenting with traditional shawls.

Books titled 'Siletta Numit Taretni', 'Imadi Charam yourakle' and 'Pisinhoudraba thesis' authored by M Subram and 'Chatlaba Natte Nakhoibu Thadoktuna' authored by Khaidem Japan were also released.

In the second session of the programme, poets and writers read out poems and stories written by them.
